Manager, Credit & Market Risk

Our client, located in Downtown, is a leader in their industry and is currently looking for a Manager of Credit & Market Risk to join their successful team.  In this role you:

·         Will be responsible for developing strong strategic relationships with counterparts throughout organization to understand the scope and implications of new product, guidelines, programs, policies and procedures

·         Will be responsible for developing and implement prudent credit and market risk policies that represent reasonable risk to the organization while meeting the needs of our customers

·         Will be responsible for developing credit and market risk rules for updates/changes to AUS and AVM models that ensure we are competitive and that represent reasonable risk to our organization

·         Be able to work closely with AVM providers to improve auto-approval rates

·         Be able to bring a systematic, disciplined risk based approach to the evaluation and continual improvement of the risk management systems and control environments

·         Reviewer of lenders’ credit and underwriting guidelines and policies (especially for new lenders)

·         Will be the support person for the Sales, Underwriting and Operations teams’ for risk requests and exceptions with the ability to prioritize these requests from various departments.  Also work closely with Risk Analysts for portfolio analysis

You must possess a post-secondary education along with:

·         5+ years of experience in Risk Management, Portfolio Management or underwriting Management

·         Strong knowledge or good understanding of the Canadian real estate market for property risk

·         Strong knowledge of mortgage lending and mortgage insurance industry
