Job Description

Are you a CPA student that has been struggling to fulfill the CPA program’s Practical Experience Requirements?  Are you looking for the chance to be more involved in the month end process and analysis of data? Yes, I said the magic word – Analysis!

Our established and growing client in Vancouver is looking for the right CPA student who has initiative and is keen to learn, to fill a 12-month Accounting Analyst maternity leave contract.  Full-disclosure: there will be 1-2 months of in-depth AP as you will need to learn the complexities of our client’s AP system.  But once you’ve paid your dues, you will then be responsible for reviewing the AP processed by other team members.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and working with the Controller, once you’ve mastered the AP, your focus will primarily be overseeing AP, assisting the Accounting Manager with the month end processes and taking on the profitability & margin analysis currently being done by the Controller.  This is an amazing opportunity to get an in-depth understanding of how the business is doing and provide valuable information to management!




  • 2+ years of accounting experience, MUST include AP
  • CPA PEP in progress
  • Sound Excel skills
  • You are a self-starter with excellent attention to detail and an ability to multi-task
  • Positive can-do attitude with the ability to manage changing priorities
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships
  • Willingness to learn and take on responsibility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
