Our well-known client in the Toronto area is recruiting for a strong and adaptable leader to be their Senior Director of Finance.


Manages the completeness and accuracy of accounting for all global transactions

Manages the research and evaluation of transactions, business practices, and policies for compliance with accounting and reporting guidance

Provides accounting support to business functions

Manages the general ledger and all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process

Interacts with external auditors and assists in the support of all annual audits and quarterly reviews by legal entities

Assists in the assessment and review of financial controls and governance over the control environment

Assists in the preparation and/or review of information included in SEC filings

Interacts on a regular basis with the Global Business Service to ensure SLAs and KPIs are within established guidelines

Essential Duties:

Makes accounting recommendations to the Controller

Works closely with Treasury, Planning, Global Finance teams, Global Business Service, and Legal on accounting functions

Manages multiple projects, Performs variance analyses



  • 7+ years previous experience
  • Mix of Big 4 and corporate experience strongly preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to finance and accounting; knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in business English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to identify data issues and make effective recommendations for solutions
  • Ability to develop recommendations, evaluate alternative courses of action, select correct course of action, and follow up, supporting decisions or recommendations with accurate information or reasoning
