Michael Kennedy

Michael Kennedy is a Senior Manager – Permanent Search at The Mason Group. Prior to joining The Mason Group, Michael worked in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring group at a boutique turnaround management and insolvency advisory firm that specialized in addressing a multitude of financial challenges faced by businesses. He gained exposure to a wide variety of industries including mining, payday lending, telecommunications, retail, oil and gas, and manufacturing.

Michael’s diverse client facing experiences allowed him to work closely with Senior Management, Boards of Directors, Special Committees, and finance teams in order to ensure the success of large domestic and international restructurings and acquisition transactions.

Michael’s ability to relate and understand with distinction, the needs and desires of both clients and candidates is one of his best serving assets. His past experiences have taught him to be process oriented rather than solely outcome focused.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he was also a member of the Men’s Varsity Division I NCAA hockey team. He went on to play hockey professionally for a couple of years upon graduation before directing his focus on a career in business. Michael still remains passionate about hockey and stays busy in his spare time by trying to stay fit, cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family.
